Originally my Baldur's Gate 3 Dark Urge character, Trouble evolved into something much bigger with a very detailed lore and I hope I can one day play as them in an actual campaign. It was extremely fun to work on them and get to add those tiny bits of Forgotten Realms lore.
The high-poly version was sculpted in ZBrush with clothes made in Marvelous Designer. I created the retopology, UVs and the rig in Maya. All maps were baked in Marmoset Toolbag and I later textured the model in Substance Painter.
Most of my previous character projects were rendered in Marmoset but I've decided to challenge myself and turn Trouble into an actual game-ready, playable character hence I brought everything into UE 5.
I've used a master material I created for another project and used it to make instances for the clothes. Skin uses another master material which gave me a bit more control over the details. I used both the eye and hair shaders from the Paragon project to achieve the best quality.
Polycount is 60k tris (7k for the haircards).
Rig is an edited version of the UE mannequin with bones added for the physics of the collar and the corset.Â
Entire project uses 4 x 4k texture sets (albedo, normal, roughness/metallic/AO) that were turned into material instances from my master material.
